This week we’re featuring a dog named Orchid!
Orchid is a 2-year-old hound mix lookin’ for her forever home!
When she was at the county shelter, she was SUPER shy, but her foster mom has really helped her learn how to trust good people.
She can still be jumpy, especially on leash, but the more people she meets in the right way (hint: they give her treats right away), the more trusting she is every day!
Still, kiddos aren’t too dog-savvy and their big noises make Orchid nervous, so she’d be best in a home with adults only.
You know who REALLY helps her out? Other dogs! Maybe you have one or more who need friends? She’s so confident when she’s with her foster pack, working out her energy in their fenced-in backyard play sessions.
She also loves going to the dog park! When she’s there, she’s even interested in going up to new people and sniffing them out (though sometimes they notice her and then she runs off to play with dogs again).
For the people she knows and loves, she trades patience and belly rubs in exchange for being house-broken and crate-trained.
