Meet Chicken, a one and a half year old female Catahoula Dog mix. This spunky girl has a cool merle patterned coat and would make a great family dog.
She has a good amount of energy, and at over 50 pounds, she might be a bit much for smaller tots, so kids over the age of 8 would be best.
Chicken is not a couch potato, so she will need daily physical and mental exercise. If you are interested in a running or hiking partner, she would be a great match for you. She also loves to swim and a dip in the lake is one of her favorite things. If you’re the outdoorsy type, Chicken will be a fantastic addition to your home.
Chicken is particularly talented, in that she knows how to ring a bell to ask to go out to potty. Catahoulas are strong, independent and highly intelligent dogs, who require owners that are patient and consistent with training.
They are also very loyal and make great watch dogs. However, they are not great candidates for apartment living, since they have strong voices. Chicken would do best in a home as the only pet, where she can receive all of the love and attention she wants.
