Did you know that January is Glaucoma Awareness Month? This condition is an increase of pressure in the eyes, which can eventually cause blindness. What you may not know, is that glaucoma can affect pets too!
This week, Second Chance Pet Adoptions is proudly featuring our very special Snickers.
He is a 5 year old male tabby, who was diagnosed with glaucoma one year ago, almost to the day. This sweet and quiet boy has beautiful, big green eyes. He gets daily drops in his eyes, to help control the glaucoma, and his vision is currently stable. He takes his medications like a champ and really doesn’t mind them, as long as he gets lots of affection in addition.
Snickers gets along well with other cats and would love a quiet household to spend the rest of his life in.
While he may lose his vision one day, we assure folks that cats adapt just fine with limited or no vision and that Snickers is certainly deserving of a second chance.
So, do something good for both yourself and a wonderful kitty this January! Remember to get your annual eye exam and then consider giving Snickers a loving home.
