This week, we have Belinda, who is a 3 year old short haired tortie cat.
We met Belinda at a county shelter in late November of last year. She made sure that we knew she was there. She hopped up and down in her cage, vocally demanding our attention. It was almost as though she was yelling out, “Pick me! Pick me!”. Of course, we could not resist, and so she came to Second Chance.
Belinda is a super friendly girl, who will make you think she’s still a kitten. She loves to bounce around, playing with her fuzzy mice or catnip toys. The second she sees you, she will mug for attention, until you give her a good snuggle.
She is incredibly chatty, so if you need someone to talk to, she’s your girl. Belinda is very sweet, but In typical tortie fashion, she does have her little quirks. She can take a little while to warm up to other cats. She’ll be growly and grumbly when she first meets them, but she will eventually let that go in favor of a good game of chase. She seems to be more partial to male cats, and she does really well with those who simply ignore her at first.
Belinda does not seem to like dogs – she has been cautious and growly with the ones she has met, but perhaps a dog who pays her no mind will eventually win her heart. While she could be happy with another pet in the home, she is would be equally fine as an only cat, as long as you are prepared to give her lots of attention.
Looking for a bubbly kitty companion with personality to spare? Check out beautiful, bright-eyed Belinda!
