This week, we have Kyoshi, who is a female, 1 year old Siberian Husky/Akita mix.
She is a medium sized dog at 44 pounds, with gorgeous blue eyes! Kyoshi loves, loves, LOVES to run around in the backyard. Having the right doggie friend would make that even better!
She does require a home with a 6 foot fence, because she can jump anything shorter. She definitely cannot have a home with an invisible fence. She had been picked up by animal control with an invisible fence collar on her and that’s how she wound up at the county shelter that we got her from.
Kysohi is super dog friendly and is surprisingly good with cats, too. She likes to good-naturedly “harass” the kitties in her foster home, all in fun, but they can easily put her in her place if they’ve had enough of her clowning around, and she is totally OK with it.
Kyoshi is also great with kids, even the small ones. She will need a firm and patient owner, when it comes to leash walking, though. She is great when she is just walking with her handler, but when she sees other dogs or people, she becomes overjoyed and begins to jump and vocalize. This display is sometimes interpreted by people as aggression, but it really isn’t.
She just loves to meet new friends and tends to come on way too strong. An owner who would love to continue to work on training with her would be best.
Kyoshi is a fabulous and fun loving pup, looking for her perfect forever home. Is it yours??
