Interview: John Eric Parker from ‘Annie’

Interview: John Eric Parker from ‘Annie’

John Eric Parker speaks with Doug about the upcoming Annie shows at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium!

John Eric Parker plays ‘Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks’ in Annie and is making his North Carolina Theatre debut coming directly from Broadway’s The Book of Mormon.

Other Broadway credits include Memphis, All Shook Up and Rent. Recent Film/TV credits include Frozen, Patriot Act and Tales of the City. He’s a proud founding member of the Tony Award winning Broadway Inspirational Voices.

Coming from Broadway, John Eric talks about how special it is for him to take time to tour, saying “It’s a wonderful thing to be able to express artistically in different parts of the country. For me, it helps me to bring different aspects of my work out to different areas of the country, but to also bring different areas of the country back to my work in New York.”

John Eric also talks about the beauty of working with children in this role, the honor and challenge this role has been for him, and what the audience can look forward to with this show, saying “Hope and Heart are at the center of this show.”

Don’t miss Annie playing from July 23rd – 28th in Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. Get tickets at NCTheatre.com.
