This week we’re featuring Ellie Jane.
Among the 50 million or so feral cats estimated to live in the U.S. was Ellie Jane.
When she was rescued from a local county shelter, she wouldn’t let anyone near her–or near her 6 newborn kittens.
Now, all of her babies have found their forever homes–but Ellie Jane remains at the adoption center, only recently having come around enough to human touch that she could be listed for adoption.
This girl was hardened by life on the streets, mama hormones, and fear that came with the changes of living indoors.
While she’s making progress daily, she’ll need adult caretakers who will give her some time to open up in her forever home.
She’s most confident when she’s around other cats, so her ideal home will include a feline companion, and lots and lots of mice toys!
