4th of July Celebrations Happening in the Triangle!

Wondering if anything is going to happen this weekend? We are too! We know 2020 will look and feel different than 2019 did, but here are a few ideas on how to celebrate this weekend!

  • Apex
    • Drive Through Red White & Blue:
      • Apex is celebrating Independence Day with a flag raising at 10 a.m. on 7/4, followed by a decorated car processional through Downtown Apex. If you want to participate in the processional, you need to register. They’ll also be showing it on their Facebook page.
  • Chapel Hill
    • 4th of July live jazz music on the lawn at The Honeysuckle Tea House:
      • For those looking for a relaxing evening, The Honeysuckle Tea House is an open air structure that’s like a tree house in the sky. Built on shipping containers and other repurposed materials, it overlooks Honeysuckle’s farm fields, herb gardens, playgrounds, hammocks, mandala garden and more. On the evening of 4th of July, enjoy live music by Popcorn Blue Band on the lawn. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs. Social distancing will be in place.
        • Saturday, July 4th, 2020, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
        • Honeysuckle Tea House at 8871 Pickards Meadow Road in Chapel Hill
  • Carrboro
    • Town Vehicle Marathon Parade:
      • Beginning at 10 a.m. on 7/4, a small train of town vehicles will drive throughout the Town of Carrboro. Step outside to look for vehicles from Police, Fire, Public Works, Planning, and Recreation, Parks, & Cultural Resources.
  • Benson
    • Benson Fireworks:
      • Starting on 7/4 at 9 a.m., the fireworks will be shot off from J. Lee Road and will be viewable from mainly locations in Benson. There will be no gathering.
    • Hubb’s Farm Good Vibes Drive-In Movies:
      • Hubb’s Farm is showing drive-in films on Saturdays. On July 4th the movie is Cars.
        • Hubb’s Farm, US Hwy 421 North, Clinton
        • Saturday, July 4th, 2020
        • Gates at 7:30 p.m.; movie around 8:45 p.m.
        • Adult: $8; Child 3-11: $5; Or, whole car: $40 (whichever is cheaper)
  • Durham
    • Independence Day in the Beer Garden:
      • On 7/4 from 4 p.m. to 11 p.n., enjoy BBQ and Italian Ice, and then watch the movie Sandlot around 8:15 p.m.
        • The Glass Beer Jug Lab
        • 5410 NC Highway 55, Durham
  • Henderson
    • Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre:
      • Located 40 miles north of Raleigh and Durham.
      • 3336 Raleigh Road, Henderson
      • Playing movies every night
      • Gates open at 7 p.m.; movies start playing at dusk
      • Adult: $8; Child 3-11: $5
  • Holly Springs
    • The Town of Holly Springs is celebrating with an online concert by Mo’Jazz on July 3rd, a food art contest at the Holly Springs Farmers Market on July 4th, and fireworks on July 5th. You won’t be allowed into Sugg Farm or Bass Lake Park to watch the fireworks in person, but they will be streamed on the Town’s website and YouTube channel.
  • Kenly
    • Kenly’s 4th of July Fireworks:
      • Saturday, July 4th, 2020, 9 p.m.
      • Kenly 95 Petro, 923 Johnston Parkway, Kenly
      • Please stay in groups of 10 or less, around your vehicle to watch the fireworks.
  • Raleigh
    • N.C. State Fair Drive-Thru Fair Food Days:
      • N.C. State Fair Grounds — enter from Trinity Road
      • Friday, July 3rd, to Sunday, July 5th, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
      • Grab some fair food in this drive-thru event.
  • Roxboro
    • Fireworks in Roxboro:
      • Person High School, 1010 Ridge Road, Roxboro, on Saturday, July 4th at 9 p.m.
      • The parade is canceled, but the fireworks are still scheduled. You won’t be able to go inside, you’ll need to remain in your car in the surrounding area.
  • Selma
    • Selma’s all-American Fireworks Show:
      • Thursday, July 2nd, 2020, 9:15 p.m.
      • Viewing area in the vicinity of Hwy 70 and Hwy 301
      • Please stay in your car for this fireworks show.
  • Wake Forest
    • Wake Forest’s Live-Streamed Fireworks:
      • Friday, July 3rd, 2020 at 9:15 p.m.
      • The Town of Wake Forest is not holding its traditional celebration, but will be shooting fireworks off from along the Sanford Creek Greenway, for you to watch at home on Facebook.

  • Wake Forest Fireworks and Celebration
